SO HOW DO I JOIN THIS FUN AND COOL TEAM?
WAIT, THERE'S AN AUDITION?
3 Easy Steps:
1. Find us at the club fair. You can steal our candy, talk to us, and get your questions answered!
2. Attend an information session
Yes! But there's nothing to worry about. At WMMT, we believe that mock trial is first and foremost a public speaking activity. We do everything we can to ensure that anyone, regardless of experience, has a shot at our team.
Auditions come with two rounds, Round 1 and then invitation-only Round 2. For Round 1, you will deliver a 3-5 minute persuasive speech to a few of our members, with no notes, about the topic of your choice. Then, you may be invited to attend our second round of auditions which will entail... wait for it... playing a game! That's right. As a team, we love playing public speaking games with each other, and we will invite potential members to come do so with us as Round 2 of our auditions.
DO I NEED HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE?
Not at all! College mock trial is pretty different from high school mock trial, so we aim to focus just on an auditionee's public speaking ability and less on prior experience. If you're wondering about the differences between college and high school mock trial, email or message us on Facebook!
