HOW DO I JOIN?
To tryout for the team, you must attend one of our information sessions, where you can sign up for an audition time. Interest meetings will be on Tuesday, September 1st at 7:00pm and Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00pm in Blow Hall Room 332. If you are interested in auditioning but could not attend an interest meeting, or have not joined our mailing list, please contact our VP Outreach, Cody Fresenius(cgfresenius@wm.edu).
WAIT, THERE'S A TRYOUT?
Yes! But there's nothing to worry about. At WMMT, we believe that mock trial is first and foremost a public speaking activity. We do everything we can to ensure that anyone, regardless of experience, has a shot at our team.
Tryouts come with two rounds, Round 1 and then invitation-only Round 2. For Round 1, you will deliver a 3 minute, performance of some sort such as a creative speech, a persuasive speech, a monologue, etc. Unoriginal performances are fine, but please let us know if that's the case! Then, you may be invited to attend our second round of tryouts which will be a surprise activity! There is no preparation for Round 2, so bring yourself and get ready to have fun!
DO I NEED HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE?
Not at all! We have a mix of members that competed in high school and who started with us.
